The prophet, Jeremiah, mentions it in a vision in Jeremiah 1:11-12: Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, Jeremiah, what seest thou? And I said, I see a rod of an almond tree. Then said the LORD unto me, Thou hast well seen: for I will hasten my word to perform it.
(in NIV) The word of the Lord came to me: “What do you see, Jeremiah?” “I see the branch of an almond tree,” I replied. The Lord said to me, “You have seen correctly, for I am watching to see that my word is fulfilled.”
In this text there is a play on words between the Hebrew words shaqed, almond tree, and shaqad, I watch. Also, the image of the almond tree, the first tree to bloom, reminds us of the watchful eye of God, that watches over His word to set it to practice. God is the almond tree of

fleas totally stink! Ask Nikki & Ryan... lol they just went thru all of that with the Beanmeister.. I will pray that your efforts will get rid of them..you know, we might just have to arrange having the house bug bombed..and flying you 4 out here again so you wont' be fumagated along with the fleas... hmmm sound good? xoxo hang in there!!! Ok, fleas are bad,Ill give you that. But we had a SCORPIAN PROBLEM!! OK, now thats serious, and scary with kids. We found at least 10 in 6 weeks. When the last one was right under the babys bed, I freaked out. We had someone come spray.Ive only seen 1 since then. Sorry 'bout the gloomy rain, but Amen God never leaves you with out some light.
